YSEJ Brake Motor

Product Details
The brake motor consists of a three-phase asynchronous motor and a brake, and is a derivative series of three-phase asynchronous motors. The brake is available in two forms: manual release and bolt release. As an important component of the brake motor, the brake has two types of working power supply: AC braking and DC braking. At present, the brake motors produced by our company are all DC brake motors, featuring high braking torque, easy installation and adjustment, fast braking response, high reliability, and strong versatility.
1. Working Principle of YSEJ Brake Motor
A friction disc made of asbestos wear-resistant material and an excitation coil are installed on the rear end cover of the motor. When the motor loses power, the friction disc is tightly pressed against the machined plane of the motor rear end cover by the brake spring through a pressure plate, generating a strong friction torque on the brake disc to achieve braking.
When the excitation coil is energized, electromagnetic attraction is generated, pulling in the spring pressure plate. The pressure plate leaves the friction disc, releasing it and allowing the motor to rotate freely. Depending on the motor power, the coil resistance ranges from dozens to hundreds of ohms.
2. DC Brake Power Supply
The DC brake cannot be directly connected to an AC power supply. A winding coil is installed on the brake armature, and the rated voltage of the winding is low-voltage DC. During operation, the brake armature winding must be supplied by a single-phase AC power source after rectification. Therefore, a rectifier is also installed inside the terminal box of the brake motor. The wiring method is shown in the following diagram.
3. Braking Time
The braking time (t) of a brake motor refers to the time from the moment the power supply to the motor and brake is cut off until the shaft comes to a complete stop. In general, the braking time is 0.5 seconds for motors with frame sizes 63–80, 1 second for frame sizes 90–132, and 2 seconds for frame sizes 160–180.
